Following the completion of an initial occupational therapy assessment, our first session will focus on co-designing a personalised and targeted approach to support your child or young person. Together, we will prioritise your concerns and document meaningful occupational therapy goals to guide our future sessions.
The frequency of appointments will depend on several factors, including:
Some goals may benefit from regular therapy appointments (e.g., fortnightly sessions), while others might be better suited to more flexible, “ad hoc” appointments, allowing time to work on goals at home between sessions. The frequency of appointments will be decided collaboratively and can be adjusted as needed.
At Bloom Paediatric and Family Services, I offer mobile-based services tailored to your family’s needs. Sessions can take place:
Please note that some educational settings may not allow individual therapy sessions on-site. In such cases, we will work together to identify an alternative location.
For regular sessions conducted at educational settings during the school term without a caregiver present, a phone appointment will be scheduled during school holidays. This allows us to review progress, address any concerns, and plan goals for the following term.
Telehealth (video call) and phone appointments are available during the day and after hours as needed. These appointments can be conducted with your child or as caregiver-only session. Telehealth provides a convenient option for families who live in areas where in-person services are not accessible, or as a means to engaging in caregiver capacity building supports.
For children whose therapy goals align with their peers, small group sessions can be arranged. These groups are designed to foster shared learning and development among like-minded children with similar goals.
